Starting on the preparedness journey can be a bit overwhelming. In today's conversation Wendi will put your fears to rest. Having grandparents and parents that were thoughtful to prepare paved a road for Wendi to do the same in her own family. It can for you as well.
If you would like to learn more about Wendi and receive some resources for your journey, you can find more at her website, www.joyfullyprepared.com

The Declaration of Independence is one of America's most important documents. It was written by men who declared to England that they were willing to give their all for the freedom to live, speak and act according to the will of God. Our Founding Fathers realized that to have such freedoms required a true dedication to God and country. Please join my husband and I as we discuss the Declaration of Independence on this, our nation's 250th birthday.

Thank you so much for listening.

This week has been quite busy and exciting. My youngest daughter is preparing for her upcoming wedding. I hope you enjoy an oldie but goodie episode from the past.
Hygge: creating a warm, cozy, and convivial atmosphere that promotes well-being. In this episode I share a book review that I thoroughly enjoyed called Slow: Simple Living for a Frantic World by Brooke McAlary .

Rosa Parks is well known for being one of the participants of the Montgomery Bus Boycott in Montgomery, Alabama, but she did more than just refuse to give up her seat on the bus that day. She stood with conviction and bravery in the face of adversity during a time when the color of your skin determined your status in society. Let's hope that we can eventually learn from the history of brave men and women; no matter your skin color.

There are so many ways to correspond with loved ones or friends. My favorite way is through the art of letter writing. I love the creativity and depth in which a letter can be written. In today's episode I chat about the many types of letters and why letter writing is making a comeback.
One book I thoroughly enjoyed in which the character told her life's story in letters is the book titled The Diary of Mattie Spencer by Sandra Dallas.
I would love to read letters from my listeners. If you would like to tell your story in letter form, you can send me a letter to:

One of my favorite tools for letter writing is a fountain pen. You can find many varieties of fountain pens at Ellington Pens.

There are times when our day is dark, our journey hard, our life in turmoil. The writer of Psalm 119 had such a day and most likely many of them, yet in the midst of the darkness he was reminded of who God is and what God could do in his life. The writer's devotion to the Lord is evident. His desire for that closeness in God is a surety. It can be the same with us. Take the time to devote to the study of Psalm 119.
